Vallarta Gears up for the 2012 Season & End of the Mayan Calendar Festivities!

Puerto Vallarta the once sleepy little quaint Pacific beach town quaint what it used to be. Her crown jewel the Malecon Boardwalk has inspired writers, painters, and musicians since the 1960's when Elizabeth Taylor put it on the map with her movie, Night of the Iguana. This two mile stretch of beach and restaurants has been decorated by none other than Sergio Bustamante, renowned artist and sculptor.

Four months of this $50 million peso Malecon upgrade is due to complete very soon. Until its finished, the automobile traffic on the Peso Díaz Ordaz will be closed and there will be some changes to traffic and signs. During the remodel, everything is open for business as usual. As of the writing of this, they are almost done! Its very beautiful, worth every peso!

Puerto Vallarta presents Electrobeach 2012

Just what is Electro Beach 2012 you ask?

Well, its a 42 night Spring Break festival in... you guessed it Puerto Vallarta! The entire lineup is still not finalized, dates are subject to change yada, yada. There has been nothing like this in Mexico ever. The closest festival of it's kind is only 4 days, and it's in Belgium at the end of July. Puerto Vallarta is built on celebrations. We have a national holiday every 2 or three weeks. There are the full 12 days of Christmas, plus the eve and the day it's self. When we do halloween, it's called the days of the dead and it's 4 days and nights long. On an average high season Thursday afternoon, you can find more than 150 thousand people on the Malecon Boardwalk. So when we hear about a 42 night Electro Beach festival, we can't even believe what this is going to do to our town! First of all, the clubs here are true world class clubs, 30 foot high ballrooms with 200 - 400 peso open bars, world class dj's and a mix of dance, pop, electronica and latin like you just can't even find on you tube. So when they tell us they are going to get Tiesto & company into one of these venues, two things cross my mind, it's about time, & are you kidding me? You don't even have to buy a ticket to join this party. Many of the venues are open-faced pointed at the ocean. The newly renovated boardwalk has the traffic shut down to accommodate all of the seasons boardwalk beach parties as well. We can't wait to see you all there. This is going to be a spring break to remember!

Restaurants»

The selection of Mexican and North American cuisine is as varied ands imaginative as the individual visitors who come to Puerto Vallarta. We can give you a few suggestions, as time progresses, your own reviews and experiences will reflect our list. As for the food illnesses, and the water sickness, it doesn't exist here in Vallarta. The water system was upgraded by a Dutch company specializing in infrastructure. Montezuma's Revenge is very unlikely to ruin your vacation.
