Vallarta Gears up for the 2012 Season & End of the Mayan Calandar Festivities!

Puerto Vallarta the once sleepy little quaint Pacific beach town quaint what it used to be. Her crown jewel the Malecon Boardwalk has inspired writers, painters, and musicians since the 1960's when Elizabeth Taylor put it on the map with her movie, Night of the Iguanna. This two mile stretch of beach and restaraunts has been decorated by none other than Sergio Bustamante, renowned artist and sculptor.

Four months of this $50 million peso Malecon upgrade is due to complete very soon. Until its finished, the automobile traffic on the Paseo Díaz Ordaz will be closed and there will be some changes to trafic and signs. During the remodel, everything is open for business as usual. As of the writing of this, they are almost done! Its very beautiful, worth every peso!

    Rainbow Gathering 2012»

Party until the end of time! Begins January 23, 2012

Some say they are the largest non-organization of non-members in the world. They have no leaders, and no organization. The Rainbow Family means different things to different people. It's safe to say they are into intentional community building, non-violence, and alternative lifestyles. They also believe that Peace and Love are a great thing, and there isn't enough of that in this world. Our traditions are based on Native American traditions, and they have a strong orientation to take care of the the Earth. Since 1977 they have gathered in the National Forests around the world yearly to pray for peace on this planet, and make community and friendship throughout our circles. They strive to leave some of that behind as they move on. In other words, its a month long PARTY! This year it's different. 2012 is the year of the rainbow, 2012 is the year of unification! The world family will gather in Brazil in January before moving north in a caravan that will link communities and celebrate eight consecutive full moons on our way to Guatemala, where we will join hands to build a permanent home for us all! Finally, many of us will observe the end of the Mayan calender in Palenque, Mexico, in December. The 2012 world rainbow gathering starts in Brazil on new moon January 23rd and ends in Guatemala on new moon November 13th. It includes: • A one month gathering in Brazil (joining the national) in the state of Espirito Santo from new moon January 23rd to new moon February 21st.• An eight month caravan sweeping north through South and Central America via many meeting points. • A one month gathering in Guatemala from new moon October 15th to new moon November 13th. Party until the end of time!

When the earth is ravaged and the animals are dying, a new tribe of people shall come unto the earth from many colors, classes, creeds, and who by their actions and deeds shall make the earth green again. They will be known as the warriors of the Rainbow -- Old Native American Prophec

    Restaurants»

The selection of Mexican and North American cuisine is as varied ands imaginative as the individual visitors who come to Puerto Vallarta. We can give you a few suggestions, as time progresses, your own reviews and experiences will reflect our list. As for the food illnesses, and the water sickness, it doesn't exist here in Vallarta. The water system was upgraded by a Dutch company specializing in infrastructure. Montazuma's Revenge is very unlikly to ruin your vacation.

    Virtual Malecon»

Virtual Puerto Vallarta brings our visitors as close as possible to Vallarta as you can get online. Find links to restaurants, accomodations, services, tours, realestate, maps and nightclubs!
